LSAB is active in the Nordic and Baltic countries with its own operations, but we also have a significant part of our sales in Europe and North-South America. Today, our products are delivered to around 40 countries. A significant part of our CO2 emissions come from transport and company cars. We work actively with the conversion of our vehicle fleet to sustainable alternatives such as electric / hybrid vehicles. We prioritize train travel if possible, instead of flights. Our products are part of a cycle with re-grinding service. Delivery of products takes place with your own truck, delivery truck or with an external partner. In 2022, we will replace traditional fuel with HVO to reduce our emissions. The alternative of conducting qualitative meetings via Teams or Zoom gives us new opportunities in the meeting with our customers. Our experience is that on many occasions we can replace physical meetings with digital meetings. Our employees are trained in the implementation and we use this forum frequently. We optimize our travel and consciously increase the number of digital meetings.
We call this Green Meetings.
Our sales and application technicians visit customers every day, and we continue to do so. But we work actively to make the best use of our resources. LSAB’s own calculations show that our active choice of meeting form, fuel, travel planning, hotel accommodation has a major impact on our goal of reducing carbon dioxide emissions. A study at Stockholm University in 2022 (Kevin Noone and Paul Glantz, at the Department of Environmental Science) shows that the climate footprint of participating in a conference in Paris is a thousand times larger than if you participated digitally. The Green meetings concept is here to stay.
