LSAB and
Our products refine a valuable raw material that is renewable and part of the solution for a sustainable society. Wood.
LSAB operates in an industry that actively supports the transition to a sustainable society. Sustainable forestry ensures long-term access to renewable resources, protects biodiversity and contributes to combating global warming. The wood industry refines the raw material and allows us to replace the fossil with renewable, bio-based materials from the forest. Forest-based products store carbon dioxide throughout their lifespan. The UN’s Global Goals are the most ambitious sustainable development agenda ever adopted by countries around the world to reduce inequalities and injustices, promote peace and justice, eliminate extreme poverty and resolve the climate crisis. LSAB’s strategic work is permeated by sustainability and we have defined six objectives for our sustainability work, linked to the global goals.

Target: 100% by 2030 (Scope 1 & 2)
We work actively with the transition to renewable energy. Within LSAB Group, we had 80% renewable energy in 2019, in 2022 we achieved 97%.
Target: 5% annual reduction related to our sales (MWh / MSEK)
We work actively to reduce our energy consumption. The work largely consists of energy mapping to find energy thieves and invest in new technology and equipment.
Target: 5% annual reduction in absolute numbers (Scope 1 & 2)
A significant part of our carbon footprint comes from our transports. We work actively with the conversion of our vehicle fleet to sustainable alternatives such as electricity / hybrid and HVO. We optimize our travel and consciously increase the number of Green Meetings. Our products are part of a cycle with grinding and repair service, we always strive to offer products with maximum service life and minimum carbon dioxide footprint over time.
Target: 100% of our units by 2025

In addition to the environmental & social sustainability goals below, we get involved socially and environmentally by supporting the Solvatten project – a Swedish innovation that helps families to clean water in vulnerable areas. Solvatten is a combined portable water treatment and water heating system that has been designed for off-grid household use in the developing world. It is an easy, innovative solution that provides access to clean, hot water to people worldwide. Thanks to its durable design, Solvatten is an affordable and convenient way to get clean, hot water.
